Marionet, in partnership with ICZERO, is holding the eighth edition of the Fonlad 2012 festival and the 1st Line Up Extension 2012 on 20 and 21 April. David R Burns, Mario Gutiérrez Cru are some of the names who will be present to share video art and talks with the public on Friday 20 April, and Sara Évora Ferreira & J. C. Jerónimo from Conflito Estético, Andrea Valência, Sérgio Nogueira and Mr Bug, Catarina Braga and Jorge Correia will be performing on Saturday 21 April from 10pm in the hall of the Casa das Artes of the Bissaya Barreto Foundation.
On the 20th there will be a presentation of international video art and time for talks with personalities who have made a mark on the visual arts, namely the director of the Proyector Festival in Madrid, Mario Gutiérrez Cru.
On the 21st, the evening will be marked by the following performances:
“Outros Destinos” (Other Destinations) is a poetic performance by Sara Évora Ferreira & J. C. Jerónimo that is born from the poetic, visual and musical creations of the VOLTE-FACE perfo-poetic project as a synergistic and complicit expression of the passion shared by these two authors for poetry. Words break away from the usual boundaries and intersect with music, video and multimedia, in a unison movement that offers itself to the other, between appropriate values in the form of a fraternity sublimated in the taste for art.
“Cabaret Bugson” is an experimental translingual exercise, determined by a time/space, in which agents from various artistic expressions will be present. Its main thread is a set of technological bugs, triggered by the painter/pastor. His first traces will be random, based on trial and error, surreal, using the exquisite corpse as a method. The visibility of the gesture will be supported by a field previously prepared by the shepherd. It is proposed that contamination will arise naturally between VJing, the whirlwind of sounds through the human voice and the sound of the cello. This unison will provide the observer with a double reading of the action, since in the physical space there will only be a few plastic records of the alphabet used and in the online mixture new data will emerge for a broader reading of the whole action.
“Ejercicios poéticos de Desobediencia Civil” is a work by plastic and visual artists from the Desobediencia Civil collective who present a microphone action, based on a cubic object, a discourse that creates and decomposes a game of bodily actions. The reading presents the audience’s ideas and opinions in the construction of a collective discourse.
