Passado na Nova Iorque da era da depressão e na Rússia estalinista, “Pigeon” segue as façanhas de Leon Theremin, inventor soviético e pai da música eletrónica. Quando Theremin se casa com uma importante e inteligente bailarina negra, o seu romance entre expatriados choca a sociedade e atrai a sombra do terror estrangeiro.

Smith também criou e co-escreveu “Transition”, “Disinformation”, “Radioplay” e “Dutch A/V” – quatro espectáculos multimédia que foram apresentados no The Public Theatre (Nova Iorque), The Warhol Museum, Portland Institute of Contemporary Art, Museum of Contemporary Art (Chicago), Institute of Contemporary Art (Boston), Ars Nova (Nova Iorque) e On The Boards (Seattle).
As publicações incluem “Pigeon” (Dramatists Play Service), “White Hot” (New York Theatre Review), “Lotus Eaters” (Steele Spring), “Streak” (Vintage).
Prémios: Bolsa da The Playwrights of New York, Bolsa da Sloan Foundation, Bolsa Page 73, Creative Capital, MAP Fund, prémio do Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle. Graduada no programa de escrita da Juilliard School.
