‘Oxymoron, between Solstices and Equinoxes’ is the first volume of the Marionet Collection, which brings together a series of theatre plays produced by our company and which has found its publishing home at Edições Húmus. The text chosen to inaugurate this series deals with the theme of bipolar disorder and was part of the show of the same name, which premiered on 20 March 2024 at the Blackbox of the Convento São Francisco in Coimbra.
The official launch of this book will take place at the Coimbra Book Fair, at 6pm on 24 June 2025, with the presence of playwright/director Mário Montenegro, physician Tiago Santos, and professor/philosopher João Maria André.

The theatre play ‘Oxymoron, between Solstices and Equinoxes‘ now published, premiered in Coimbra, at the Convento São Francisco, on 20 March 2024, in a co-production between Marionet and the Convento São Francisco.
The main aim of this collection is to contribute to the permanence of this ephemeral art that is theatre and, in particular, of the creative work of this company which, almost since its inception, has been committed to combining theatre and science on stage. We therefore intend to give a permanent body to the words that have flown on the many stages on which Marionet has performed.
The Marionet Collection begins with a series of recent texts that fall thematically within the field of Health Sciences. All of them, as well as the shows to which they belonged, were informed by interviews with patients and health professionals.
