Ana Cristina Tavares
Ana Cristina Pessoa Tavares holds a PhD in Biology (Plant Physiology) from the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra and has taught in the Botany Department of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra (1981-1992). She was also an invited Assistant Professor at the School of Pharmacy at the same institution from 2002-2003. She was responsible for the Botanical Garden Education Service (1997-2012) and holds the International Diploma in “Education in Botanical Gardens” from the Kew Royal Botanical Gardens (London, 2002) and a Post-Graduate Diploma in “Medication and Health Products made from Plants” from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Coimbra (2007). She has been a grant holder for a Doctorate from the Institute of Interdisciplinary Investigation from the University of Coimbra since 2007. Tavares has had books published by Coimbra University Press, including the co-authored Plantas Aromáticas e Medicinais do Jardim Botânico [Aromatic and Medicinal Plants of the Botanical Garden] (2010).
