A "pigeon" travelling between Russia and the United States to the sound of a theremin
On 22 November, for the last time this year, we’ll get together to Read Theatre With Science.
The work selected for this reading, in an open vote, was “Pigeon“, by Tommy Smith, a play set in Depression-era New York and Stalinist Russia, following the exploits of Leon Theremin, a Soviet inventor and one of the pioneers of electronic music.
The text was translated from English into Portuguese as part of the Collaborative Translation Project, in yet another effort inspired by the concept of citizen science, and will be read at Marionet’s headquarters (Rua Carlos Seixas, 277) at 6pm. To take part, either by reading or just watching, just send an email to: ler@marioneteatro.com
And, of course, you can count on the usual cookies, accompanied by a warm cup of tea. Come along!
