SYNOPSIS

We can’t see everything that exists. We fitted time into hours, minutes, years; distances in centimeters, miles, lightyears. We invented gods so we don’t have unanswered questions. Somewhere – way beyond the blue we call “sky” – stars are born and die, black holes form and collide, and we try to describe them; there are small defects almost as old as the big bang, that created waves that still propagate in space-time, and we don’t notice them in our daily lives. How can we think about these massive and complicated questions in our daily lives – that seem so short, so fast?

Ruído (Noise) is a scientific difusion piece from Noitarder, created for planetariums, about gravitational waves. Raquel S. studied Philosophy, so she asked very abstract questions. Lara, her sister, is a cosmologist – a very special kind of astrophysicist -, and always asked very concrete questions. When Lara invited Raquel to write a theatre play about her investigation project, they started sharing questions, trying to ask better questions together.
