Thank you, Paulo Gama Mota
Paulo Gama Mota, biologist, professor and researcher at the University of Coimbra, designed and later directed the Science Museum of the University of Coimbra for eight years. As he leaves the Museum, leaving behind a rigorous and exemplary work at many levels, Marionet publicly thanks him for this work, as well as for the close collaboration we have established over the years.
Looking back at all the projects we have carried out in collaboration with the Science Museum, we clearly see the existence of a common path, built progressively:
2009 / Co-production, for the European Researchers’ Night (NEI), of the play “Mr. de Chimpanzee“, and edition of the Portuguese translation of the homonymous play by Jules Verne;
2010 / Co-production, for NEI, of “Flies are Rats that Fly“;
2011 / Presentation of the play “Lab La Bla” at the Mineralogy Gallery, as part of the UC Cultural Week;
2011 / Presentation of the play “Calculus“, by Carl Djerassi, at the Mineralogy Gallery, and organisation of a lecture with this American scientist and writer;
2012 / Co-production, for NEI, of the play “Asn Ala Tyr Lys Lys Gly Glu“;
2013 / Co-production, for NEI, of the play “And now, Frankenstein?“;
2014 / Co-production, for Nei, of the play “Fakelook“;
2015 / Co-production, for the UC Cultural Week, of the play “The Lusiads in the Science Museum“.
An important part of our company’s recent history was written in collaboration with the UC. And to Paulo Gama Mota we owe the insight and complicity in establishing this very fruitful relationship between theatre and science. Thank you very much!
