After the success of ‘How do you invent?’, held in December 2023, we are now returning to this Theatre and Science Workshop, with a new interpretation of this activity for young people and children.
Is there a formula? Do artists and scientists use similar methods and apply them to their specific work? These are some of the questions we’ll be asking as a group from 18 to 21 December (Wednesday to Saturday) in Marionet’s next workshop. During these days, we’ll be drawing on the stages of the scientific method to create an artistic object and making concrete some of the questions we may have about the creation of life on planet Earth.
Imagining is like opening many drawers of an old chest of drawers and finding objects that we thought were lost. Without limits or boundaries, we venture into the universe of imagination, which is inexhaustible and, also because of this, opens up new possibilities for interpreting everything that exists.

This Workshop emerged from the need to bring the disciplinary intersection Theatre/Science to the young public. Marionet stands out for its 23 years of ongoing work on the intersection between Performing Arts and Science. Along the way, there were several times that the work crossed with younger audiences and these moments made clear the importance of communicating science in a more practical, interactive and playful way.
The workshops take place when the children don’t have school activities. They lasted for five days, and were prepared by Marionet’s team, directed by Mário Montenegro and coordinated by Carolina Andrade, graduated in Theatre and Education.
