Reading Theatre with Science | “Comet Hunter", by Chiori Miyagawa
This month we’ll have the reading of the play “Comet Hunter“, by Chiori Miyagawa, in the 7th edition of Reading Theatre with Science.
Our Collaborative Translation Project volunteers are making arrangements for the reading of this play about historical figures in physics and astronomy.
This reading will take place on June 22nd, at Alameda das Tílias, Botanic Garden of the University of Coimbra, at 6pm.
Comet Hunter is based on the life of the first recognised female astronomer in history, Caroline Herschel. Born in 1750 in Hanover, Germany, Caroline followed her brother William, a celebrated astronomer, to England when she was 22. She devoted her life to assisting her brother and never married. This play is the story of about a brother and a sister who share the celestial enchantment. Caroline is guided by a prophet, “Time”, who gives back hope for the future.
