The eleventh session of Reading Theatre with Science will take place on 22 March, at 6 pm, at Marionet (Rua Carlos Seixas, 277). We will read the translation of Jordan Harrison’s play “Marjorie Prime”, made by the translators of the Collaborative Translation Project.

Both the original text and the translation by the Collaborative Translation Project are available for consultation or loan at the CDAPC.

We’re in the age of artificial intelligence, and 85-year-old Marjorie — in a jumble of disparate and faded memories — has a new companion who’s programmed to feed her back the story of her life. What would we remember and what would we forget if we had the chance? In this spare and wondrous new play, Jordan Harrison explores the mysteries of human identity and the limits — if any — of what technology can replace.
