A formal and special message...
Your Excellencies, greetings! I humbly kiss your hands. I am Sir Formal Trifle, one of the characters in ‘The Virtuoso’, which Marionet brought to the TAGV stage last week.
Recognising the charm of the ornamentation with which I usually wrap my modest oratory, this excellent theatre company, whose work has been rooted for almost 25 years in the fertile soil that is the crossroads between the performing arts and science, has asked me to address two words to you.
However, I mustn’t go any further without first emphasising that Marionet was recently awarded the Foundations Prize, which certainly fills it with pride and joy. I would also like to take this opportunity to highlight the brilliant work that the company has managed to materialise this year, 2024, in which it has staged two splendid shows, seven welcoming theatre readings, three fun workshops for children and young people, two intriguing digital art objects, three juicy talks and an exciting exhibition. All of this was also intricately interwoven with various appearances at artistic and scientific meetings, demonstrating an irreducible commitment to the intersection of these two noble disciplines.
Finally, and now that I’m approaching the inescapable terminus of the concise and flowery introduction to this letter, here are the two words I’ve been asked to deliver to your excellencies: HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!
Post scriptum. Since, to my dismay, my memory no longer gravitates permanently in the orbit of infallibility, I almost forgot to mention the fact that Marionet has opened a survey with which it aims to refine the edges of its dedicated work. Filling it out will be a great testimony of affection and consideration for its constant endeavour to serve you better.
